SmartTag with ZekiAI

Smart Tags is an AI-powered feature that helps you create meaningful tags automatically by using your existing business and product data. Instead of defining all tags manually, the system analyzes your data and suggests ready-to-use tags that can later be assigned to users based on their behaviors.

Smart Tags can be created in multiple ways: you can use AI-suggested tags as they are, edit them to fit your needs, or create completely new tags from scratch.

What is a Smart Tag?

A Smart Tag is a tag generated with AI support. The system looks at your products, categories, then suggests tags that represent customer interests or purchasing tendencies.

These tags help you better understand your audience and build more accurate segments for campaigns.

What You Can Do with Smart Tags

With Smart Tags, you can:

  • See AI-generated tag recommendations
  • Edit recommended tags before using them
  • Activate recommended tags
  • Create completely new smart tags on your own

How to Access Smart Tags

To start using Smart Tags, go to Audience > Tags from the main menu. On the Tags page, you will see multiple tabs. Open the Smart Tags tab to view and manage AI-supported tags.

This page is designed to clearly separate the tags you are already using from the tags that are suggested by AI. This helps you review recommendations safely before deciding to use them.

The first area shows the Smart Tags that are currently active in your account. These are the tags you have already chosen to use. The second area shows Smart Tags that are recommended by AI but are not active yet.

Actively Used Smart Tags

The Actively Used Smart Tags section displays all Smart Tags that are actively used in your account.

For each Smart Tag, you can see its name, a short description explaining what the tag represents, and the tag values that define its structure. This makes it easy to understand what each tag is used for at a glance.

Next to each tag, there is a three-dots menu. From this menu, you can edit the tag if you want to update its name, description, or values. You can also delete the tag if it is no longer needed.

Recommended Smart Tags

The Recommended Smart Tags section shows tags that are suggested by AI based on your account's data and overall business structure. These tags are not active by default.

Each recommended tag comes with a suggested name, a description, and example values. Before using a recommended tag, you can review it carefully to see whether it fits your business needs.

If needed, you can edit the recommended tag to better match your use case. Once you are ready, you can click Edit and Use to activate the tag. After activation, the tag will move to the Actively Used Smart Tags section and become available across the platform.

Creating a New Smart Tag

You can also create a Smart Tag manually if you want full control from the beginning.

To start, click the New button and choose Smart Tag as the tag type. This opens the Smart Tag creation screen, where you define how the tag should look and behave.

Defining Smart Tag Details

When creating a Smart Tag, you are asked to provide a few basic details. These fields ensure that the tag is clear, usable, and consistent across your account.

The Tag Name must be unique within your account. It should clearly describe what the tag represents so that other users can easily understand its purpose. After a tag is published, the Tag Name cannot be changed.

The Description explains the meaning of the tag in more detail. It should briefly describe how or why the tag is used.

Smart Tags use a categorical structure, but the tag values are not predefined. Instead, Zeki AI analyzes the account's data and generates a list of recommended tag values dynamically. These recommendations vary by account and are based on calculated insights. Users can then review and use the suggested tag values as needed.

You must define at least two tag values. These values represent the possible states or categories of the tag, such as different preferences or characteristics.

For each value, you enter a label that users can easily recognize and a value that is stored by the system. You can add more values if needed by clicking Add Tag. The label supports up to 200 characters, and an optional description can be added with up to 500 characters.

After completing all required fields, click Save. Once saved, the Smart Tag becomes active and appears in the Actively Used Smart Tags section.

Using Smart Tags in Segmentation

After creating Smart Tags, they can be used to build audiences in segmentation.

To create a segment, go to Audience > Segments and click New. Choose Interactive as the segment type, then enter a segment name and description.

Once the segment is created, click Add Inclusion Filter. Select the condition for smart tag:

Save the segment to include users who match the selected Smart Tag conditions.
