The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the foundation for safeguarding individual privacy within the European Union (EU). Dengage, recognizing the significance of this regulation, is dedicated to ensuring that our operations align seamlessly with the GDPR guidelines. Effective from May 25, 2018, the GDPR aims to consolidate and fortify the protection of personal data for residents within EU member states.w

Key Entities and Roles

In the GDPR framework, three principal entities play crucial roles in the processing of personal data: Data Controllers, Data Subjects, and Data Processors.

Data Subjects: These are end-users, customers, or individuals who entrust their personal data to you.

Data Controller: As Dengage, you are the entity determining how and why personal data of Data Subjects is processed.

Data Processor: Dengage acts as a Data Processor, handling personal data on your behalf and strictly following your instructions.

Dengage's Commitment

Dengage proudly asserts full GDPR compliance. Our commitment extends to providing features that empower you, the Data Controller, to honor your users' (Data Subjects') rights effectively.

Rights and Implementation

  1. Right to Access: Under GDPR, individuals possess the right to confirm data processing, access their personal data, and receive supplementary information. Dengage facilitates this by enabling you to export user profiles, including personal data, using our REST API.
  2. Right to Rectification: Individuals have the right to rectify inaccurate or incomplete personal data. Dengage offers solutions through SDKs and the /users REST API, allowing you to send correct data and amend existing records.
  3. Right to Erasure: The right to erasure, or 'the right to be forgotten,' empowers individuals to have their personal data deleted. Dengage provides APIs for erasure, ensuring comprehensive removal from our data stores. Users are recommended to uninstall or log out from applications using the Dengage SDK for complete cessation of data processing.
  4. Right to Restrict Data Processing: Data Subjects have the right to restrict the processing of certain subsets of their personal data. Dengage facilitates this through the restriction REST API request, allowing you to mark user profiles as restricted.
  5. Right to Data Portability: Dengage supports the right to data portability, allowing users to export their personal data through the Dengage REST API.
  6. Right to Object: Individuals can object to processing based on legitimate interests, direct marketing, or purposes of scientific research. Dengage provides APIs and SDKs to unsubscribe users and avoid processing their personal data.
  7. Rights Related to Automated Decision Making & Profiling: Dengage assures that it does not engage in automated decision-making with legal implications. Users can delete their profiles in alignment with the "Right to Erasure."
